Turkey Blocked Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and GitHub

turkey blocked cloud services

Turkish government decided to block such cloud storage services as Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft’s OneDrive, as well as the biggest code hosting service GitHub, according to Turkey Blocks.

Turkish government in a such way tries to stop the leak of emails belonging to the Ministers, related with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In fact, this means the start of a campaign initiated to control turkish users’ mailing and online correspondence.

The move to block the world’s most popular cloud services comes amidst growing calls in Turkey to build local versions of popular social media services – in July, far-right Turks called for the creation of a nationalised Turkish Twitter alternative to replace the US-based company’s services.
